The Ne Fx2 D1 was originally based on the Fw 190 V18 prototype, however began to take influence from the P-51D, F8F, and the A6M series, until taking heavy influence from the Ta 152 as the D12 model. The Fx2 reverted back to a P51D/Fw 190 V18 hybrid due to bad tail wobble, becoming what is now as the D13 model. The Ne Fx2 series took heavy influence from 1940s Germany through it’s shape, armament and even it’s name. The Ne is taken from the first two letters from the made-up company; Newfri, much like how German aircraft were named during the war. It was originally named FVx2 after putting a V instead of a U, however this was not corrected as
FU didn’t sound like a great combination. The name FUx2 was meant to be a reference to the Fw 190 in the form of a chemical equation, however was scraped in favour of Fx2. The D12 model was armed with 3 × 20 mm MG 151 cannons, 1 motorkanone and 2 in the wing roots. This configuration was replaced with the heavy hitting MK 108s. If required a motorkannoe can be installed or the MK 108s can be replaced entirely.
While it’s unlikely that the Ne Fx2 D13 will win it should put up a good fight and an entertaining show, so long as the AI doesn’t fall asleep and it dies in a head-on or fails to do anything when something falls on it’s tall.
