Description
A stock rocket called GEO Coms w_ Merlin XX. Built with 751 of the finest parts, its root part is probeStackLarge.
Built in the VAB in KSP version 1.2.0.
Instructions for landing the Merlin XX booster stage:
Point Straight up until 19km. Then, tilt east 4°. Keep that heading until you run out of fuel. Yes run out of fuel, the fuel tank at the very bottom, in between all the engines, will have a full tank that needs to be unlocked for landing. After you have run out of fuel, Decouple the upper stage and continue the easterly heading and point 20° above the horizontal. Keep control of this upper stage, and a 15-20° heading, until the booster stage passes its apoapsis and is about 55km above surface. Then, switch control over to booster until it lands. As soon as you have control of the booster, press 1
to release landing gear, toggle brakes to deploy airbrakes, and toggle gear to deploy landing gear. At 650-700 meters above surface start full throttle hover slam. After landing, switch back over to upper stage and finish circularizing the orbit.
