Description
Duna Cargo Delivery Vehicle
A stock rocket called DG-X1. Built with 319 of the finest parts, its root part is probeStackLarge.
Built in the VAB in KSP version 1.2.0.
This ship is used to bring four small rovers to Duna. Each rover is packed in a cargo box that is release from low duna orbit and parachutes safely to the surface. Also, because I needed it for the mission, there is a detachable nose cone that houses a satellite equipped with an ore survey scanner.
NOTES:
1) make sure you are suborbital before releasing cargo.
2) when parachutes have deployed, use SAS to keep the cargo boxes level with the surface. If not, they will most likely tip over upon landing. Which is BAD.
3) If the cargo is grouped close together after release, you will have the ability to easily switch between the four during parachute assisted descent. So, save before releasing in case you want to redo.
