Description

This is a low tech career SLS style launcher for Apollo style missions within the Kerbin SOI. Designed and built with level 1 Science Building parts (up to level 5 tech tree), and launched from a level 2 Launchpad and VAB. Designed for two kerbals, 1 pilot for obiter, 1 scientist for MEM lander.

Flight Profile:
Stage 1: Lifter
a. straight up untill 100m/s velocity
b. sharp turn to 50* incline at 90* vector and hold untill SRB burn out
c. after SRB seperation, then follow prograde untill AP 75km+, then stage

Stage 2: Transfer
a. stage fairing about 65km
b. circularize Poodle stage @AP
c. depending on flight profile, dV in LKO should be @1100m/s (enough to get to minmus)
1. add more fuel to this stage for exploring other solar bodies
d. aim for a direct impact for Mun or Minmus, then stage

Stage 3: Orbiter
a. 1225m/s dV with Low Tech MEM lander attached, enough to capture Mun or MInmus
b. 2500m/s dV without MEM for return (when fully fueled, less on missions but plenty to return)
c. mid course burn to raise PE 20km+, then circularize orbit @PE

Stage 4: Low tech MEM lander; 2400m/s total dV
[Descent] TWR=1.8 (Kerbin) 660m/s dV (vac) Note: fuel transfer is on between so Descent can pull fuel from Ascent stage.
[Ascent] TWR=2.7 (Kerbin) 1750m/s dV (vac) Note: plenty of thrust and fuel in this stage for larger bodies without atmo. May have less if transfered some fuel durring Descent.

A stock rocket called Low Tech Apulu 11. Built with 113 of the finest parts, its root part is Mk2Pod.

Built in the VAB in KSP version 1.11.0.
