This is the IS-3M, a pretty famous tank. It has a grand total of 1 corrupted part throughout the entire build. I did the track-slack on this build for a bit of fun. The turret was also somewhat easy, just tedious to make

The IS-3 (Named after Joseph Stalin) began in 1944 with two prototypes—one with the cast, hemispherical turret, and one with the pike nose hull. It was decided that the hull of one should be mated with the turret of another because those were their strengths. After this, the IS-3 was officially adopted into service, as well, the IS-3. It arrived too late to see combat in WWII though with (unconfirmed) reports of them fighting Jagdpanthers in Berlin. Though it did arrive in time to participate in the Berlin Victory Parades. Not too much in terms of combat until the 1950’s when the IS-3’s were modified to be IS-3M’s. During the Six-Day War it was proven the IS-3 was not the best suited for combat, with its slow rate of fire and slow speed.

Flaws

The IS-3, although viewed as this great tank, is very flawed. The first of the major flaws is the welding quality. If struck, there was a chance for the welds to fail. The armour quality in general was also meh, though better than Tiger II’s. Casted turrets, although very well protected were hard to repair and especially in IS-3, varied in quality from cast to cast. The reload was slow, just like the tank. It also was not well suited for the terrain it found itself in, for it was underpowered and didn’t have a powerful enough radiator to cool in the hotter climates. Whilst the armour was the best at the time of its introduction, it was quickly bested by the L7 tank gun which was made in response to this tank, so even when modernisation happened, it was hopelessly outdated.
