About the aircraft:

The F4U-4B is similar to the preceding F4U-4, primarily in handling, but the primary difference and reason for its higher performance is the much more powerful armament of 4 x 20 mm AN/M3 cannons and an upgraded engine, providing it much more versatility in its playstyle.

While it retains the classic Corsair characteristics of superb horizontal performance, especially speed, energy retention, and rapid turn, its enhanced engine allows for some vertical fighting. Of course, you don’t want to attempt to out vertical a Griffon Spitfire or a Bf 109 K-4 unless you absolutely know what you’re doing, but planes like Fw 190 As that don’t thrive in the vertical may simply stall out. This is also helped by the excellent flaps; the takeoff and landing flaps significantly reduce stall speed but tear readily at 250 km/h (155 mph) IAS.
The fighting flaps improve turning greatly and may be utilized at speeds of up to 450 km/h (279 mph) IAS. Despite its weight, the F4U-4B is an exceptional turner and can turn with many planes at high speeds (over 500 km/h/300 mph), at least enough to get a shot off. It can turn with a remarkable number of aircraft at low speeds while using flaps, albeit this is only to a certain extent. Be aware of the rudder, which quickly loses efficacy over 550 km/h (340 mph) and makes shots against evasive foes tough, however this is mitigated somewhat by the heavy weaponry and pretty excellent roll rate.(creddit wt wiki)
