The Blackburn B.47 Firecrest, designated YA.1 by SBAC, was a single-engine naval attack fighter produced by Blackburn Aircraft for service with the British Fleet Air Arm during WWII. It was an evolution of the problematic Firebrand, aiming to meet Air Ministry Specification S.28/43 for a better aircraft suited to carrier operations. Three prototypes with the business designation B-48 and the informal name Firecrest
were ordered, but only two of them flew.
