X-83 Endymion Mk IV
More than 8,000 m/s dV!
Tired of getting stranded in space? Need more dV for your ship? The final product of the Endymion-Series has over 8k m/s dV maximum range*
(*with liquid fuel only in every tank.)
Use of Tweakscale allowed for saving up to 100 parts compared to similar projects.
4 upscaled Rapier and 8 upscaled Nerves power the Endymion.
7 Kerbals Capacity.
ISRU complement on board with two large mining drills.
Electricity provided by an RTG, two Fuel Cell Arrays, an oversized battery and two emergency Gigantor XL Solar Panels.
Powerful Lander: X-82 Selene*
(*also sold seperately)
Explore strange new worlds and unknown civilisations with the X-82 Selene Lander. Over 4,300 m/s dV and an atmospheric TWR on Kerbin of over 1 will land and take off on most of the planets and moons in your solar system.
One Aerospike and two additional Spark engines power the Selene and allow its two Kerbonauts to collect science everywhere. The advanced drone core helps in collecting the science. All the onboard experiments can be activated at once with action group 9. Bring a scienctist to reset the Mystery Goo and the science Junior manually.
Add-On Fuel Tanks for the Lander
Extend the range of the Selene Lander with up to two additional fuel tanks. Simply dock them to the frontal shielded docking port of Selene, set the fuel flow so that they are drained first and decouble when drained. This will increase the range of the Selene to allow descent to Tylo-like bodies as well as ascent from them.
Explore resource concentrations with the new Assistant Mk III scan satellite.
Good flight characteristics
After having trouble with landing and taking of with large SSTOs from Laythe and similar planets, the Mk IV series has been deployed. With enough thrust, control surfaces and wing area you should be able to make your way down to Laythe and up again.
Manually adjusting of the control surface percentage might be advised.
Center of Mass and Dry Center of Mass are close. Main cargo bay is near center of mass.
With a maximum range of over 8,000 m/s dV with the NERV engines, almost everything is in range.
After reaching a stable orbit around Kerbin, the Endymion, carrying an orange test tank of 36t, has still more than 6k m/s dV.
