X-48 Titan III
Visit every planet and moon in the solar system with the new X-48 Titan III*. 6.800 m/s dV will bring you to your next stop.
(*Eve excluded. Well, you can land probably….)
The X-48 Titan II is designed to collect science Data from everywhere.
To achieve this, it is built as a Single-Stage-to-Orbit vessel with a powerful, two-stage lander.
The current model, the Titan III is currently on its grand tour throughout the solar system.
CTOL / VTOL
Conventional Take Off and Landing / Vertical Takeoff and Landing:
The Titan II can take off and land just like a regular plane. However, it has additional rocket motors in the servicebays on the front.
Open the Servicebay (Action Group 4), activate the Thud Rocket Engine (5) to bring the plane in an upright position. Deactivate the Rocket engine before the ship topples over. Activate the Main Engine cluster. Depending on the local gravity, the four Nervs (3) may suffice, otherwise assist with rapiers (1) in closed cycle mode (2).
With the complement of mining drills, ore tanks and converters you can refuel on every body.
The two stage lander is a small powerhouse and capable of Tylo landing and ascent into orbit. Two seats and a full science suite leave almost no wishes open. Fully fueled, the lander weighs under 20t. The second stage still has 4.600 m/s dV in space and enough thrust to lift of from Kerbin.
Grabbing unit included:
The cargo bay houses a grabbing unit with drone control. The unit can be used to recover the lander or stranded Kerbals.
