The Super Mystère B2 is the final evolution of Dassault’s fighter Mystère family which appeared through the 1950s. As with every iteration, it featured notable aerodynamic improvements over its predecessor, notably a higher sweep angle, dogtooth leading edges and a revised air intake, which played a core role in allowing it to be the first French fighter to surpass the speed of sound in level flight, and effectively the first Western European mass-produced supersonic aircraft
