The fourth Plane Prime flying west, well after passing the halfway point for a full circumnavigation. It did not beat V3’s range, but it still passed the minimum standard of 1,890 km.

- With four Goliath engines, I would have twice the thrust as the previous version, which means I should expect a higher cruising altitude and/or speed.
- However, as a drawback, since this plane is loaded with not much more fuel than the last one (5,000 units), I should not expect to get a better range. As long as it can get at least halfway around the planet before it needed to land, I would be okay.
- On Hotel26’s advice via DM, I raised my wings’ AoA by 5 degrees to increase speed.
Description
Despite V3 being associated with frequent haunting rumors, conspiracy theories, and pleas to retire and preserve it in Kennedy Kerman’s memory, V3 continued to act as the Prime Minister’s primary air transport for over half a century. Nobody can really blame the Kerbin’s central government for holding on to V3 for that long, as it continued to perform well. That is, until Prime Minister Hinton Kerman said it was “time for an upgrade.” Kerbin’s legislature voted to pay for a “brand-new and improved” Plane Prime in the following year’s budget bill, although allegations of bribery and extortion circulated that part. Some time after his term ended, Hinton confessed that he “couldn’t stand flying in a plane that’s possessed.”
Manufactured by Thenos, Plane Prime V4 would have twice the thrust of its predecessor and be equipped with the latest in-flight terrain-mapping technology. In other words, it could land at night when light was sorely lacking. Supporters of the Plane Prime V4 stated the goal was to fly higher than V3 and faster than V2; having a range greater than 1,890 km was a secondary concern. Critics, however, claimed that retiring V3 was a bad idea seeing how it was still working so well. Apart from that, some of them suspected money laundering when they noticed that Thenos received almost three times the normal price tag for other luxury jets of that same (general) model.
V4’s service was only a little longer than V1’s, as Prime Minister Bush Kerman Junior asked the legislature to commission a new Plane Prime as soon as they could. Since Thenos’ CEO had been arrested for embezzlement and money laundering – and many suspected then-Prime Minister Hinton Kerman to be a co-conspirator – Bush Kerman Junior did not want his primary transport to be associated with it in any way. He also asked that V4 be scrapped, although he met fierce opposition from aviation and history enthusiasts as well as political opponents. As a compromise, after V5 was finished, V4 was sent to the Super-Cool Aircraft Museum in Krakopolis to be put on display.

This shot was taken 15 km from the KSC at an altitude of 4 km. The plane was going at 363 m/s at a pitch angle 0.5 degrees.
- This plane went as high as 9.3 km and/or as fast as 430 m/s before settling for a cruising altitude. And boy was that a hassle.
WARNING: If you go supersonic, expect your engines to get hot.
After 2 hours of continuous flight, I have 225 fuel units left; the plane started with 5,000. After getting over this lake, the plane had better land and fast.
RECOMMENDED CRUISE
Based on previous successful performance
Altitude: 7.9 km (~25.9 ft, which is Class Alpha airspace)
- Once you ascend to that altitude, keep rising for a few more seconds before leveling out. Then, you can turn on the altitude hold. If you need to turn on the heading hold later, gain a lot more altitude should the autopilot bring you down after getting a cruising altitude.
- This plane can go higher, but not by much if you want to cruise.
Velocity: 300 m/s (671 mph)
- Not much faster than V2, but it still crushed its cruising altitude and range.
EXPECTED RANGE
2,630 km before immediate landing necessary.
- I was 1.141 Mm away from the KSC flying WESTWARD TOWARDS IT (as in I had completed most of the planet’s circumference) when I had 150 units of fuel left. Though I fell short of the space center, it was still an impressive range.
Prime Minister Hinton Kerman with famous kerbalnaut Jebediah Kerman soon after his return from the Mun. Although Hinton was in the lame duck period when the mission commenced, he is still regarded as the Prime Minister at the time of kerbalkind’s first manned mission to the Mun.
Five years after notorious yandere and mass-murderer Misty Kerman faked her death (and that of Jebediah Kerman Senior) a body was found off the coast of infamous Creep Island on Kerbin. The victim was carrying a watertight pouch with a camera inside, which made it easy to recover the photographs. One of which was this:
- Using facial recognition, the man in this photo (right) was identified as Hinton Kerman. Judging by the victim’s estimated time of death and his/her missing persons report, Hinton was Prime Minister at the time this photo was shot.
- Though the identity of the woman (left) remains unconfirmed, an anonymous source claims that her name is Yusai Kerman, the heir to Creep Island. The source also claimed that, before Jeffrey Kerman took control, Creep Island was owned by the same family for generations - and each owner was a woman. It was meant to be a prison for the love rivals of each owner’s daughter, but then Jeffrey Kerman turned it into a human trafficking hub.
- Further investigation found out that Yusai Kerman was Misty Kerman’s mother (and Irpond Kerman’s grandmother). A subsequent search of Yusai’s house found an old map whose directions were discovered to lead to Creep Island.
Another successful landing, and with less than 100 units of fuel left.
