INSTRUCTIONS (PAY ATTENTION)

1) Make sure plane is relatively level when placed at the runway. The front wheels shouldn’t be touching; they’re just there to keep the plane from crashing nose-first into the ground.
2) As soon as your speed hits ~130 m/s, pitch up.
3) Get your pitch angle to 15-20 degrees, then hold prograde once stable.
4) Hit RCS. Trust me, it will come in handy later.
5) Reduce throttle to 2/3 power if you hit 1400 m/s or over before reaching 20 km altitude, or else you’ll explode from overheating. Either way, watch your heat meters
* resume full power at 20 km altitude, no matter what.
6) Keep holding prograde with your RCS on when your rapiers automatically switch to rocket mode. TRUST ME.
7) Once your apoapsis reaches the desired altitude (e.g. 170 km), cut the engines and keep gliding until your plane leaves the atmosphere.
8) Circularize at apoapsis.
9) Detach the spaceplane. The camera should focus on that part while being controlled from the cockpit/probe core.
10) Switch to the carrier. If it hasn’t already, hit Control from here on the mini probe core.
11) Make your de-orbit burn on the carrier, then hit 0 to switch to air-breathing mode.
- if you haven’t already, retract the panels.
12) No matter how much oxidizer you still have, keep your carrier’s engines on air-breathing mode when you land.

Spaceplane alone at 175 km orbit with 4,975 m/s of delta-V.

Description

Why take the plane when the plane can take you… oops, that’s not it. Do it again.
Why use your own ascent fuel when someone else can take you to LKO for you?

Built in the SPH in KSP version 1.9.0.

The main spaceplane flying over Laythe’s oceans with Jool clearly visible in the sky.
