The F-94 Starfire on display in the SPH.

  • The ladder was removed when it was realized that the hatch was obstructed. So, if you plan on using this in your career save, don’t use this for anything other than in-flight crew reports (or science if you add instruments to it).

Nothing says AMERICA!!!!! like at least three large USAF symbols painted on your plane.

I had already surpassed double the Starfire’s real-life counterpart’s stop speed of 640 mph (286 m/s), so all that was left was the altitude

  • Although the rules for the USAF Replica Showcase was just that it had to be functional and not necessarily meet or exceed the real-life performance stats, I decided to go for it.

Description

No, you nerds. This isn’t the Tamaranean princess also known as Starfire from the DC Comics.
The Lockheed F-94 Starfire was a twin-seat all-weather day/night interceptor that first reached operational service in May 1950. It was also the first operational United States Air Force fighter equipped with an afterburner as well as the first jet-powered all-weather fighter to enter combat during the Korean War. However, it was briefly replaced by the Northrop F-89 Scorpion and North American F-86D Sabre.

A stock aircraft called F-94 Starfire. Built with 40 of the finest parts, its root part is Mark2Cockpit.

Built in the SPH in KSP version 1.12.4.

I had exceeded the real-life Starfire’s top speed and altitude. In this picture, I am cruising at around a stable16.5 km (I can go higher) at approximately 800 m/s.

200 units of fuel spent in afterburner mode, and I flew almost 500 km before landing. I had plenty of fuel to spare (500 units left), but completing the range test would take all evening.
