Description

When attached to a transfer stage and sent on a duna insertion, this is intended to aerocapture, then use the satellite’s engine so put the combined vehicles in an orbit suitable for mapping and for plotting a landing. Once you find a cool spot on kerbnet, use the skycrane to deorbit the rover and send it down, jettison the aeroshell/heatshield as necessary, and parachute/power down to a landing. From there, jettison the skycrane and the rover has antennas to communicate with the orbiter and thus hopefully KSC.

A stock aircraft called Duna Tandem Mission. Built with 68 of the finest parts, its root part is roverBody.

Built in the SPH in KSP version 1.2.1.
