The Queen of the North Atlantic
The bluenose was a celebrated racing ship and fishing vessel, built in 1921 and designed by William James Roué. It was intended to compete with American schooners for speed, and it did so fantastically; it won several races with ease making it an important Canadian symbol in the 1930s.
This replica is half scale, or about kerbal scale. The part count is very large due to the amount of detail I tried to cram in it – 20% of the parts come from the life boats alone! I think this craft turned out great; it’s certainly one of my favorite builds. This craft is not at all practical, It is rather more of a piece of art.
You’ll need a flag for the deck texture (it’s the same one as the Iowa class)
get the flag here
< A good view of the rigging
(my favorite image)
< Showing the deck detailing; life boats, barrels, rope, etc…
< top view, note the hull shape
