-Basic Description
This is an alternate version of my A-Wing craft https://kerbalx.com/Kronus_Aerospace/Kronus-BD-1-A-Wing, I decided to update the design by making it a VTOL, as well as adjust a few other parts of the design. The craft can VTOL using 14 juno engines and includes reaction wheels to make it easily controlled in VTOL mode. The landing gear were adjusted to make the craft sit level, this makes the craft slightly more difficult to rotate, but also facilitates vertical take off. The addition of the reaction wheels as well as adjustment of the CoM has made the craft rediculously maneuverable, the downside is that it is now possible to stall the craft, however thanks to the reaction wheels it is very easy to get the craft back under control. all of those additional components has made this craft 5 tons heavier than it’s predecessor. This is also the first VTOL aircraft I have ever made and subsequently the first craft I’ve ever landed on top of the VAB. This craft was fun to fly before, and now It’s even more so!
-Flight Information
-Rotation Speed: 55 m/s
-Max Flight Speed: 191 m/s
-Max Speed VTOL: 29 m/s
-Maneuverability: Very High
-Crashibilty: Not as High :-(
-Side Note
The screenshot of the craft on top of the VAB was the result of about 3 minutes of madly flailing around with the controls (I’m pretty sure I gave Valentina whiplash), but amazingly not a single RUD was involved!
