Engine Description

Built to replace the original electric R-4360 I posted a few months ago, this little beast produces almost twice the thrust at 400 kN vs the original 230 kN, on top of this it is about the same weight as the original with almost half the part count. With an ISP of 11700s, this turboprop is slightly less efficient than Goliath Turbofan which has an ISP of 12600s, but is more efficient than the Wheesely’s alone which have an ISP of 10500s. Combined with it’s reasonable part count, I would argue that this engine is actually quite practical. While packing signifcantly more bang for your buck compared to the original, it does suffer from the reduced aesthetics inherent to turboprops.

If you want to use this engine on a craft yourself I recommend you also get the version which spins in the opposite direction for the most balanced flying experience. It’s available at the link below.
