-Basic Description
This craft is a large, low-profile, high speed jet that was designed to balance both form and function. This craft was inspired heavily by the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird
, which is rather fitting seeing as it was the Blackbird’s J58 engines that the Whiplash engines were modeled after. This craft, unlike the Blackbird, was designed to be highly manueverable, in spite of its large size this jet can run circles around the VAB. This craft has an enormous amount of lift, making it very satisfying and responsive in flight, it also maintains a steady 80 m/s in most manuevers, making the craft pretty much impossible to stall at lower altitudes.
-Flight Characteristics:
-Rotation Speed: 65 m/s
-Cruising Alititude: 17000 meters
-Maximum Speed at CRZ ALT: 1156 m/s
-Stall Speed: 20 m/s
-Manueverability: Moderate-High
-Crashibility: Low
-Known/Development Issues
The various aesthetic
components of this craft cause a significant amount of drag, and without them this craft could easily exceed 1200 m/s. I personally do not care so much about this fact as it doesn’t really affect the craft’s low altitude prefomance.
