This… thing is a demonstration of the power of CURVES… (ahem) I developed a technique whilst working on my stock Spruce Goose replica that allowed me to generate curved surfaces using flat stock parts. This was ultimately only used on one small section of that particular craft’s fuselage, but I was curious as to how far I could take it, resulting in this monstrosity.
Below is a demonstration of how to perform this building technique
Neat huh?
At its core this technique allows one to connect two none parallel surfaces. In this instance both surfaces are straight, but they don’t have to be, both surfaces can be curved whatever which way and be connected together smoothly using this technique.
As stated above this can be done using any flat rectangular part. Depending on the scenario different parts will work better, it depends on the size, shape, and weight restrictions you need. Whatever the case, the technique is equally effective whether you are using wing parts, rover probe cores, MK3 parts, or whatever!
So what are you waiting for?
Get out there and make some curves!
