Description
A mod aircraft called Emerald-Class Cargo Transport SSTO: Bluefin Mk. II
. Built with 96 of the finest parts, its root part is B9.Structure.StackSeparator.MSR.
Built in the SPH in KSP version 1.0.4.
The second of our two latest recovered craft, the Bluefin is a dedicated cargo SSTO like the Barracuda, but comes in a slightly smaller package, for small-to-midsized payloads to be brought to orbit. However, like the Razorback, it sports an incredible launch TWR of greater than one, which means it also can gain great speed and altitude quickly. Unfortunately, its design means that once the fuel is burned and the craft is re-entering, it has the possibility to become aerodynamically unstable. Once the Bluefin passes through re-entry however, it becomes much more forgiving to handle. Get yours today for √99,000!
Flight Profile:
*As stated above, the issue with the Bluefin is that the CoL momentarily moves in front of the CoM during re-entry, and the craft is vulnerable to retrograde flips in this situation. Handle with care and attempt to do the majority of your orbital slow-down higher up so that you can go straight through the atmosphere. High AoAs are not recommended. However, the fuel margins for the Bluefin are large and you will easily be able to perform a powered landing.
