Mk 3 update: Better, less parts, lower cost.
*5/19 added spectro-variometer for Duna
*Swapped out 3 fuel tanks with big ore tanks for contracts. (Actually gets a bit more dV than Mk2 if you process the ore with solar power in orbit.)
*Moved the 2.5m science bay to the lander and added a surface scanner. The RTG also moved - use solar to keep the top probe core alive when separated.
*Deleted surplus parts- fuel cells, batteries, drain valves and even a few struts. Still enough fuel cells for a L5 engineer, science lab, everything. There’s an opposing pair of valves on the center tank - select drain tank/ vessel as needed. Remember to transfer fuel to lower tanks before landing for better ground stability.
*redid action groups to avoid toggle that can get out of sync if changed manually.

Mk2 description:
A giant rocket lander with ISRU and fuel cells for night, a lab, full science, etc. Like a station that can land and refuel. Big SRBs and partial liquid fuel load for the Rhino take it from Kerbin direct to Minmus for ISRU refuling. 4.8 km/s full. Intended to land on Duna or smaller - haven’t been there yet, just started KSP in 2020! The upper command module can detach to leave in orbit if desired. Full probe control available in each half. Legs are wider and stronger than MK1 (unpublished). I didn’t cheat… no autostruts or rigid attachment. Coming soon: Citadel, a bigger SSTO rocket lander.

A stock rocket called Drill Sergeant Mk3. Built with 329 of the finest parts, its root part is mk1-3pod.

Built in the VAB in KSP version 1.9.1.
