The client wanted a regional jet in both short and stretched configurations. And so, we delivered! The cost savings of combining them into one were significant. Yes, there is a large hydraulic piston running though the middle of the passenger compartment, but really, is this any worse than Spirit Airlines or Jetstar (for those down under)?:
Use the three standard axis groups to control each piston. Action group 1 toggles the party lights.
Marketing thought they would give it a bit of literary cachet by naming after a Shakespeare character. It would have been helpful if anyone had bothered to read Twelfth Night before making the selection. But like the character, the design of this plane required a bit of arrogant delusion.
