My first upload of a hydrofoil.
Name after Captain Irving Johnson, a hero of mine who rounded the Horn on the square rigger Peking and filmed the whole thing. Later, he would would take kids on a round the world sailing adventures. An amazing man. See linked video if you are keen to see his film.
As for the hydrofoil: not as fast as some, but I wanted the engines under water in keeping with the spirit of the craft. It will do 24.8 meters per second, which is a respectable 55 mph/89 kph. I’ve added landing gear so you can get it to the water, but in trying to keep a low profile, you will notice it is barely adequate. If you have Mission Builder (and the blow up everything bug is not hassling you), I recommend scrapping the gear and just loading it in the water. 1 toggles the afterburners, which are needed to get it on plane, 2 toggles the masthead lights and 3 the running lights.
Use the rudder (yaw) for low speed turning, but use the roll key if you are turning at speed. You may wish to use roll combined with pitch.
I used Mission Builder to get it to Laythe, but if you can get it on a rocket and send it there, I hope you will upload the ship! Have fun.
