Originally developed as a business jet, Gertrude actually became popular with CEOs and project directors of major scientific organizations for surveying and mapping, first on Kerbin and later on Laythe. While it takes a bit of skill to land, the general consensus is a few crashes here and there are more than compensated for by its excellent range and funky aesthetics.
Named after the great explorer Gertrude Bell. Cruising speed is 350-400. A top speed of 600 was briefly achieved but overheating issues mean we can only recommend this for those with very good insurance policies.
A stretched research variant is currently in development. Watch this space.
Flying: will fly with SAS off, but for cruising, SAS is your friend.
