Nevermind that no matter what you do, the ship will start tumbling before you can get it into a stable orbit, that’s what escape protocols are for! And the light show that occurs when you simultaneously engage all the decouplers is truly awe inspiring. So far, the crew have often survived.
Stage once to fire up the engines. Stage again to release the launch clamps, and stage a third time when you are ready to destroy the entire vessel.
