Named after Ambrose Bierce, the biting wit author of
The Devil’s Dictionary.
After seeing so many planes with floating bits, especially stock propellor planes, I thought,
Well, why not create an exploded diagram plane? …like those drawings you see of transmissions in Haynes manuals.
So, I built a plane, got it to work, and then did this to it. The original is called Ambrose, and that is also up on KerbalX:
Ironically, I built Ambrose only for this experiment, but it turned out quite by accident to be one of my best planes.
The only thing not separated is the ladder because (no surprise) Valentina could not get on the plane with it hanging out in space.
Despite being, obviously, wider, longer and taller than Ambrose, this aircraft is still quite nimble. But it is subtly different.
Like Ambrose, it is more fun to fly with no SAS if you can swing it.
K.R.A.S.S.H. (Klapaucius Reliable Air, Space, Sea & Hardware)– innovative designs no-one conceived a need for.

Don't forget, people build craft at all skill levels, just 'cos something is 'newbish' doesn't mean it needs hatin'.
