Description

A monstrous jetliner built to set-down and take-off from the waters of Kerbin.

After spawning, immediately put on the brake to let the aircraft settle on the runway. It is recommended to fly with control aids on. After taking off, fly down close to the water’s surface. Decrease thrust to zero. Once you have slowed down to around 50 m/s, drop the plane into the water. In order to take off, set engines to max thrust and keep wings from rolling. Press the 1 key at 38-39 m/s to lift the front of the plane out of the water. At 45-46 m/s, hold down the S key. Once the plane reaches 55 m/s it will lift out of the water. Press 1 again once in the air.

Lore: After nearly 47 years of intermittent warfare, the upper class of the Anglo Empire began seeking ways to escape the dreary and gloomy Isles. The advent of more efficient turbofan engines meant they could now be used for long range flights. Blackpool Air Works, seeing a market for transatlantic flights to the American Kingdoms drew up plans for a gigantic 6 engine jetliner seaplane. Designed with 6 private berth cabins, an upper and lower lounge, wet bar, men and women’s restrooms, dressing room, and restaurant. First launched in March 1963, the first Northumbria began operation with Imperial Airlines from Cardiff, Ængland to New Amsterdam, New Netherland. While it met its market, the prohibitive cost meant that the majority of people on the Home Isles could not afford to take these flights. As a result, few Northumbria’s were constructed.
