Description

In 1990, Robert Zubrin proposed the Mars Direct plan which uses 2 Heavy Lift Vehicle launches for a Mars Mission. This modular habitat serves as the crew transit vehicle and meant to be used in conjunction with the Mars Direct MK I or MK II Earth Return Vehicle (ERV) with a Mars surface rendezvous and precision landing. This version has room for 4 kerbals and more docking ports to greatly expand the modular base size. Connects to Mars Direct MK I Habitat MK II Habitat and Mars Direct Lab. Has no science or rover. Designed as a supplementary crew module. The whole base becomes a very fast and stable rover, provided all modules are facing the same direction. Wheels are detachable to create a permanent base. This design derived from the Mars Semi Direct NASA mission.

A stock rocket called Mars Direct Habitat MK II. Built with 174 of the finest parts, its root part is crewCabin.

Built in the VAB in KSP version 1.10.0.
