What if this became America’s first jet?

This craft is based on the Lockheed L-133 Starjet. Way ahead of its time (1942), it’s a much more interesting aircraft than the later P-80 (which would reuse its main wings design), let alone the meh P-59.

Action Groups

[R]=guns guns guns
[1]=afterburner off/on
[Brake]=airbrakes

Design Notes

  • I give it 4 Junos to make it fun to fly. If you are looking for realistic experience, press [1] to deactivate two of them, so that you get a TWR of ~0.4, similar to that of the Gloster Meteor. In this case, it accelerates slower, but can eventually reach cruise speed of ~M0.8, similar to the L-133 design goal. With all 4 engines, it behaves more like modern subsonic aircraft, and can quickly achieve cruise speed of ~M0.95. The choice is yours.
  • It has firework guns (900m/s muzzle velocity, 32x2 shots, press [R] to fire). See my Goblin page for demo video.
  • Hold [Brake] when turning for tighter turns at the cost of rapid deceleration.
  • In rare cases, it’s possible that the fairings mess up and produce asymmetric lift. Reverting to SPH may or may not fix this. However, this is only problematic when you fly manually with SAS off. SAS and MouseAimFlight are both able to counter this.

Wish you enjoy!
