V1.1 changelog: very slightly modified wing shape, see the GIF below. I just can’t get over it and have to update.
My Echo ‘47 fictional version of the Heinkel He 162 Salamander
, with a far more powerful engine than it should have (TWR ~1, transsonic), plus additional firepower.
The craft is pure stock, but I recommend using MouseAimFlight to fly planes, and more importantly, to land them.

[7]= toggle reaction wheel
(default off, I don’t think it will do much though)
[0]= toggle engine
[Abort]= toggle flaps
[RCS]= toggle reverse thrust
Notes
- Takeoff & landing speed 60 m/s.
- The nose-down tendency from top-mounted engine is countered by slightly angled horizontal stabilizers.
- With low drag, high thrust and high wing load, it flies more like a high speed interceptor than a dogfighter - it accelerates quickly, but also loses speed rapidly during high-G turns. I believe the IRL He 162 has somewhat similar performance, however the real one has weaker engine and can never hit sound barrier.
- Its maneuverability increases after dropping the external tanks (which are both heavy and shifts CoM forward).
- The real He 162’s CoM is pretty up front and has limited combat maneuverability (safe overload = 4G for early versions, 6.5G for later versions. (Source) But I don’t care about that and used a ballast tank to shift its CoM towards the rear, giving it enough maneuverability to knock out pilots. Fun fun fun.
- By default, it carries 50% internal fuel for better flight performance. Increase that if you want to fly longer distances. CoM will stay constant.

Overall, it handles nicely and I enjoyed flying it. Wish you enjoy as well!
