Design Notes
Deadlines of university stuff are drawing near, it may take me a bit time to finalize this design, which I really like and eager to share, so I’m posting it as-is. No Key Features for now.
Early test flight models achieve LKO with 900m/s - 1km/s dV in a relatively compact package with little to no functional part clipping (especially wings in this case), as shown in the 4th screenshot. This model uses Mk2 cargo bays to carry Mk1+Mk0 fuel tanks, fully utilizing the volume of Mk2 parts that are otherwise greatly wasted. The cargo bay should stay closed.
Flight Instructions
- Engage SAS, stage to launch, rotate at 120m/s and 10 degrees to space!
- Refer to my other SSTOs for a more-or-less standard landing procedure (40km PE aerobraking reentry).
