After having completed production of the Scimitar, Kerbatros engineers decided that fast just wasn’t fast enough. To develop a faster fighter, designers placed two Kestrel M5-120 engines end on end while attached to a single propeller, doubling power to 240 units of SAS torque; one placed behind the pilot and one in-front.

This paid off to some extent as cruise speed was maximized to 256 m/s in level flight. All while retaining the benefits of a turboelectric engine, a long range, excellent endurance, and great fuel economy.
