Sky Lifter is a small Skylon inspired SSTO. It has a fairly small payload capacity, which can be modified by yourself. Sky Lifter uses a system of on/off R.A.P.I.E.R.s to function. —–Destructions: –Lift of, GENTLY. Never use to much of any controll surface, because she is real sensitive. –Pitch angle doesn’t matter until around 10 Km, where you should start pitching 10 or 20 degrees from the horizon. At 21,000 meters, you should be at around 1,000-1,200 m/s. Once you are here, your engines will start to lose air. –Once your speed actually starts dropping, press 1 (Switch mode) and 2 (Toggle middle engine) because since you are in rocket mode, the middle engine is no longer needed. –Push apogee to a recommended 70-150 Km, and coast. –Circularize. –Pop nose cone off to expose heat shield. –Release payload. –Press 2 (Toggle middle engine) and 3 (Toggle outward engines) So now you are only using the middle engine, and fuel is therefore saved because only one engine is used for orbital maneuvers. –Once you have spent enough time in space, based on how much fuel you have left, plan a reentry angle to the Kerbal Space Center. The heat shield should help some. –If you lose control on reentry, once you are at a suitable speed, press 5 (Cargo bay doors) and then deploy parachutes. These should help you recover most of your craft.
