Description
The JESS space station’s Japanese orbital segemnt (JESS) has the core module, named Applejack
, and a second module that provides communications and electric power. It’s pretty useful for a Japanese-European space station, with American involvement. It’s designed as a replacement for the ISS, as it would be retired in the near future. It’s also a response by Japan and Europe to Tiangong
, China’s space station program. Hopefully, this will give you insight on how this came to be.
