Description
The H-IIB is the obvious choice to launch the HTV (H-II Transfer Vehicle), or Kounotori, after a naming competetion. The H-IIB can propel the HTV to LEO with its two stages, assisted by 4 SRB-As, similiar to the H-IIA before it. The liftoff begins when the first stage engine is ignited, followed by the SRB-As. After it has begun liftoff, the 2 SRB-A pairs are jettisoned. After that, the payload fairing is jettisoned and the second stage seperates from the first stage. It then propels it to its final operational orbit before finally seperating from the H-IIB’s second stage, beginning its long journey to the ISS.
