Description

After spending 6 monthes in front of the blackboard determining the best way to write a name, JS Hangtian developed the Herguer lander and the powerful Fogin SaCC. When used with the Lehu capsule, the combined package allows 4 Kerbalnauts to land on the Mun easily. In order to satisfy the S-Spec requirement, neither Shiny Protective Foil nor Science Package are included.

Note: Fogin SaCC as developed is not suitable to launch Kerbalnauts to Kerbal orbit. Check for any stowaways before launch!.

Flight profile:

• Launch the Herguer ErX + Fogin SaCC-S to a 150kx150k orbit
• Launch the Lehu-S capsule to a ~75k orbit, then Rendezvous and dock
• Use the Fogin SaCC’s EDS (2nd stage) to head to Mun.
• Expand the remaining of the EDS for Munar Orbit insertion, and use Herguer’s landing engine for remaining orbit insertion. Recommend Munar orbit: 50k
• Transfer crews to the Mk2 Lander can and Crew cabin; undock and land.
  To ascent:
• Disable Desent stage engines. Set thurst to full. Stage to detach and launch Ascent module
• Aim for a 25k orbit, then rendezvous with Lehu
• Transfer fuel as needed, then discard Ascent Module.
• Conduct Munar escape maneuver with Lehu

Builder’s Note:

There are multiple designs for the Altair lander. The second revision have protective foils surrounding the tanks, with a vertical cylinder crew cabin/ascent stage, and 1 engine each for the descent stage and ascent stage. This version is based on the first iteration that utilized a horizontal cabin instead, and utilize 4x desent thrusters instead of 1 at center, and no protective foil at descent stage. A few research presentations – including a certain graphic novel – indicate such design is used in preparation for integration with ATHLETE spider, which would have integrated the rover function with the lander.

The ErX-S original goal is to allow people who have no DLC to enjoy my creation. As such, it will stay separated form the YiX model, which will keep the 1x engine + foil design. While I may create derivative that uses DLC, there will be an ErX-S model regardless.
