Apollo 11 (CSM and LM) on a Saturn V (United States)

Description

“Project Ananas” is Kerbal’s first Mun landing project, with the goal of sending Kerbalnauts onto Mun (and even Minmus) in the fastest “guaranteed” method. In order to make it in time for the New Year celebration, a lunar rendezvous is picked so a smaller rocket can be used.

The 3-man crew will transverse between Kerbin and Mun in the Ananas CSM outfited for Munar mission, and once arrived in Munar orbit, 2 Kerbalnauts will transfer to MEM to reach Munar surface. To ensure there are enough fuel to land safely, YiX’s descent stage carried ample fuel, on board science sensors, and cargo space to hold ground based experiments for Kerbalnauts to deploy. When it’s time to depart, the upper stage will separate from the descent stage and transverse back to Munar orbit to rendezvous with the CSM.

The entire package is launched atop the “Fogin SiCC”, which some claim is overbudget and overpower. However, Kerbodyne insist the size is necessary so Dessert Bureau can have the data they needed…

Maker’s Note

  • Originally for 50th anniversary of Apollo 11, and that some people just have MH. Thus, it will include the SEQ-3 cargo bay (which was made vanilla), but not any BG’s ground deployables - figure if you want BG stuff, you will go with the rover.
  • Originally it would have been placed as a variant of the my Apollo 15 clone. I am keeping it seperate for now.
