Apollo J Class (CSM and LM) + Lunar roving vehicle, on a Saturn V (United States)
Description
“Project Ananas” is Kerbal’s first Mun landing project, with the goal of sending Kerbalnauts onto Mun (and even Minmus) in the fastest “guaranteed” method. In order to make it in time for the New Year celebration, a lunar rendezvous is picked so a smaller rocket can be used.
The 3-man crew will transverse between Kerbin and Mun in the Ananas CSM outfited for Munar mission, and once arrived in Munar orbit, 2 Kerbalnauts will transfer to MEM to reach Munar surface. ErX have a newly designed descent stage so a folded Munar Roving Vehicle (Munar rover) can be folded and stowed within, as well as carrying scientific equipment. When it’s time to depart, the upper stage will separate from the descent stage and transverse back to Munar orbit to rendezvous with the CSM.
The entire package is launched atop the “Fogin SiCC”, which some claim is overbudget and overpower. However, Kerbodyne insist the size is necessary so Dessert Bureau can have the data they needed…
