Description
Passenger configuration of a Blackhawk-inspired VTOL. Carries 2 crew in the cockpit + 10 Kerbals in the back. Equipped with belly .50 cal turret and 2x M61 Vulcan miniguns as door guns (since BDA doesn’t have an M134).
To take off: press (2) to turn on VTOL engines. Throttle up until liftoff achieved (approx. 66% throttle with full pax load), then press (1) to turn on forward flight engines. Gain some speed/altitude, then press (4) to switch VTOL engines to dry mode. Press (9) to angle VTOL engines forward for dedicated forward flight.
To land: Press (1) to turn off forward flight engines (I usually do this 1-2km out and coast the rest of the way). Glide down toward your desired landing location (you may want to press (8) to return the VTOL engines to the default downward-facing orientation to bleed speed). As you approach stall speed, press (4) to switch VTOL engines to wet mode and throttle down to keep TWR at 1. Decelerate by pitching up or by pressing (7) to angle the VTOL engines forward (to preserve glide characteristics).
