A stock aircraft called K-SSTO Shuttle. Built with 144 of the finest parts, its root part is mk3Cockpit.Shuttle.

Built in the SPH in KSP version 1.0.5.

Shuttle Ascending profile:

  • Engage SAS (key ’T'), full throttle.

  • Retract the landing gear.

  • From 0m to 9000m , set plane nose on the navball to 25° (the orange V indicator, not the yellow prograde vector).

  • At 9000m, set smoothly plane nose on the navball to 10°.

  • Let the shuttle accelerate, don’t touch anything.

  • When shuttle speed begin to decrease (alt approx.23500 m, speed approx 1350 m/s) , press key ‘1’ to switch Rapier engine’s mode, then wait and don’t press any key.

  • When the apoapsis is between 80 km and 100 km, press ‘X’ to stop engines

  • Circularize at apoapsis !

deploying satellite:

  • open cargo bay !

  • decouple and move away the shuttle from the satellite

  • switch the control to the satellite

  • press action group ‘5’ to deploy it

  • set the rc-001s remote guidance (at the middle of the satellite) to control the satellite from it.

  • unlock the RCS tanks

  • place the satellite it on a higher orbit if needed.

Shuttle Descent profile

  • Burn retrograde to the desired point

  • press action group ‘1’ to switch rapier engines in ‘Airbreathing’ mode

  • deploy the aerobrakes

  • activate SAS and then the prograde vector and let the shuttle do its atmosphere reentry

  • wait until the speed is less than 300 m/s to switch to the ‘stability assist’ mode and make landing manoeuvers. (because in some manoeuvers the shuttle can be fragile at high speed in the atmosphere…)

  • use (or not) the engines for landing !

caution: I suggest a landing speed = 50/60 m/s with a low vertical speed or you may have a problem … [press F5 key before landing] :))
