The Heron series of rockets fills a gap between the light ‘Sparrow’ and the Medium ‘Griffin’ series. The high performance Taurus upper stage has enabled the ‘Heron’ to launch the majority of Kerbin comm satellites and small exploration missions. ‘Heron’ comes in 3 variants and is mostly limited in payloads by the low-thrust upper stage, requiring a steep launch profile
