Description

The ‘B’ variant of the CV-3 family of crew vehicles is designed for exploration beyond LKO. This variant differs from the ‘A’ variant by using a new service module with larger fuel reserves, higher thrust engine with a secondary low-thrust manoeuvring engines, larger power generation and more robust communication links. The CV-3B also incorporates a refuelling port, allowing the CV-3B to be refuelled on-orbit, this allows the CV-3B to transport cargo to Mun and Minmus stations without having to reserve fuel for the return burn. The CV-3B is primarily launched on the Griffin A6, but can be launched on Condor 1 or Condor 2 depending on mission profile.
