Description

I have had Krew around for several years as a subassembly. It made an appearance as GUARD Krew.

With my recent move to Pole Star as my workhorse space station (and phase-out of Nova), Krew now has an elevated role as an add-on to Pole Star.

Here it is, mounted atop a Simplicity launcher, slightly modified for the task.

The shot above is taken during the standard docking test and shows two Krew compartments that have self-maneuvered to dock.

Launch:

• SAS Sfc Radial Out
• Pitch-down 5 deg reaching 80 m/s and go SAS Prograde
• Sfc Orbital reaching 16km
• raise AP to 80km. Keep the Simplicity S1 firing until PE reaches 0km and then jettison
• you should have time to circularize the payload and then return to S1 for self-recovery.
  The Thud S2 stage will self-deorbit if you are facing Orbital Prograde when you trigger it.
