Quickly transfer passengers and/or fuel between craft; accommodate off-duty kerbals awaiting their next assignment… ShipManifest is highly recommended. You will also need VesselMover to locate your terminal (one time) anywhere on Kerbin.
Use of Pushback highly recommended for docking some vehicles. Figuring out the best way to dock any particular aircraft is Half The Fun [tm]!
Use of Quicksave [f5] before docking is mandated by Federal Law!!
