I kinda liked how messy the original Intellitank looked. Then I updated it with a Minimus launcher and put a fairing around it, so that the external ‘barnacles’ didn’t matter on launch.

Nevertheless, Intellitank 2 provided an interesting exercise in packing a 100kg service bay…

I am currently putting 8 of these into 80km orbit, spaced out with 534 km (2 * pi * 680 / 8) so that it’s only a very short wait to launch direct to intercept for an immediate refuel.

Built in the VAB in KSP version 1.11.2.

Ascent:

• SAS Hold; pin open tanks for fuel transfer
• ignition
• 25 m/s, SAS Sfc PRO
• make AP:75; transfer fuel to the Boar as needing leaving around 1500LF+OX remaining in the Intellitank 2
• 15s before AP, burn ORB PRO until 1700 m/s
• return all fuel to the Intellitank 2 payload, then jettison Minimus.
• circularize Intellitank 2. Deploy equipment [9]
• return to Minimus and ride to recovery.
