Description
[B] spoilers
Skylight is technically Galileo V, I suppose, but it’s whole history is quite accidental. (It started out as a CFE (craft-file editing) experiment to examine how to unlock two docks that have become glued
by years in space.)
It’s equivalent to Galileo III but restricted to serve in LKO.
Take 3 kerbs up. Park on a station. Transfer to other craft (Papa dock only). Take 3 kerbs down.
Fully charged, it might go to the Mun (or Minmus), but it certainly won’t land on the Mun’s surface, like Galileo III can…
S1 is recoverable after staging while prograde. Galileo V ‘Skylight’ is also recoverable.
[R] to maneuver and to use throttle for prograde thrust.
Built in the VAB in KSP version 1.11.2.
Launch:
- SAS Hold; ignition
- 30 m/s, SAS Sfc Prograde
- wait for 50 deg attitude, then full throttle
- raise AP 80km; coast
- 70km, engage spoilers [B]
- circ: (2280 - Orb speed) / 80 = 14 secs; T-7: full throttle to ~2260 m/s; tune for 80x80 km
