Description
An interorbital fuel transporter named Fuel Train LF. Built in the KSP 1.7.3 VAB with 70 stock parts.
This machine is related to my earlier development of Mule, Zippo and Supertanker Methuselah. Nevertheless it, and its fraternal twin version (LF/LFOX), have a niche.
It is smaller than Supertanker but is intended to be entrained with others to make a train load with the amount of fuel, and mixture of LF vs OX, that is required. At the destination, one component at a time can be separated and maneuvered to dock – an easier proposition.
I will be using Fuel Train LF to ferry fuel to ships in LKO, especially those departing on longer voyages. Also to fuel GKO (geosync orbit) ships and those just outside the Kerbin SOI (e.g. Outpost. Also possibly fuel supply stations at the edge of the Mun SOI. And, finally, stationed at Ike and Gilly to ferry fuel from those convenient mining sites to low orbit around the parent planet.
