Description

9:struts 0:gimbals Abt:cut chutes

A stock probe called DSRN V. Built with 73 of the finest parts, its root part is dockingPort3.

DSRN V comes mounted atop a Spunk, light-weight, recoverable booster that is able to land downrange under chutes or on wheels back at the KSC. DSRN V bears a strong similarity to components of Long March, but it is a stand-alone Deep Space Relay Network probe.

Typically, I use the first-stage Spunk to get circularized just above 70km. Then bring the Spunk back for recovery. Then use the second-stage Spark to boost DSRN V into a circular kerbolar orbit at roughly the same altitude as Kerbin (i.e. use the minimum burn to achieve escape velocity. The mission then to the destination can be plotted with a gigantic 9.3 km/sec available in the first stage.

This little beauty has just taken me to Dres for the very first time and I will also capture Eeloo shortly, also for the first time ever.

Built in the VAB in KSP version 1.6.1.
