1. Fully refueled, the 3 stages possess 3.4 km/s dV
2. the upper 2 stages possess 5.4 km/s dV
3. the 3rd stage RA-100 possesses 9.3 km/s dV

Publication of DSRN RA-100 Simplicity demonstrates the flexibility of the new Simplicity Lux family of lifters: in this model, the first stage is intended to be used as a transfer injection booster and then burned back for recovery, refueling and reuse.

The Simplicity first stage can be de-orbited to touch-down equally well on water as well as land for subsequent recovery.

Launch:
Engage SAS Sfc Hold; ignition; at 35 m/s, SFC PRO; raise AP to 75; coast and circularize. From a low circular orbit, separate and deorbit the Simplicity booster 31 degrees ahead of the target touchdown site by lowering its PE to NEG 280 km. Sfc RETRO; apply brakes; if by land: gear down after chutes fully deployed; else by sea: gear stay retracted.
