Description
A lunar relay constellation known as Beep Mk2. Built in the KSP 1.7.3 VAB with 114 stock parts.
Whereas Beep Mk1 contained two pods with Spark-propulsion and left some waste in space, this version uses a Terrapin ion drive, not only to position the pods in their equatorial and polar orbits, but also to drive some of the interplanetary maneuevers.
The Terrapin is believed to provide something like 8.7 km/s dV.
Beep Mk2 features double-ended docking to allow it to be stacked on a booster with other components, e.g. a Tetrahedron… In fact, sending a Beep Mk2 in tandem with a Tetrahedron has the benefit of providing an RA-100 to ride along with both to the interplanetary destination.
Use Tetrahedron for planets and the lighter, solar-powered Beep Mk1 relays for moons.
